42nd Street Cast Resources

What to Bring

Bring a water bottle, black split sole jazz shoes, flat tap shoes for most male characters, character heels and character tap shoes for most female characters, and a pencil for notes.

What to Wear

Wear your class dress code attire, and black split sole jazz shoes. (no jeans, sandals, crocs, or dirty street shoes). Adults, wear clothes you can move in.

What to Expect

Expect that some rehearsals students will be very busy and some rehearsals they will spend learning and watching others.  That is the nature of a scripted show rehearsal process.

Practice At Home

All actors, regardless of age/role, will be expected to practice their lyrics and choreography at home between rehearsals so they are prepared to learn new material having already mastered the current material.

Rehearsals

Rehearsals will begin for the ensemble in late February on Mondays and some Saturday AM's. In May we will add Additional rehearsals. Rehearsals are a few times a week until 2 weeks before the show.  There will be added rehearsals.  Once we arrive at the theatre, these are black out dates and no one is permitted to miss rehearsals.  Missing tech or dress rehearsals can result in removal from the show.

Costumes/Hair/ Makeup

Specific costume/hair and makeup requirements will be presented as we get closer to the performances. Many female actors may wish to purchase a wig.

Performances

Performances will run in July- specific dates TBD

Load In and Strike

Showtime Theatre Company's production team is all volunteer, and as such, they require a lot of assistance to create the caliber of production value we are known for. We require that all families contribute a minimum of 8 hours of volunteer time, with at least 4 hours of that in load in and 2 hours at load out.  For those who cannot make that commitment, there is an option to make a donation of $100 in lieu of volunteer hours so we can hire someone to replace you.

Cast Party

Cast Party Details are TBD
